Since the birth of America, we have fought for freedom and equality: from gaining freedom from Britain, to equality, no matter what the color of your skin is. Even now Americans fight for freedom, not only in this great country but all over the world. I like to think that we do this simply because every human being has the right to live their life to the fullest. Mississippi was granted the chance to extend that right, not to someone outside of America, but to ones that are yet to set foot on American soil. Maya Angelou writes “Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away.” Imagine if you were never given that right. What if people said that you were not a human being and basic human rights were not extended to you? Most of us can’t even fathom it.
People are so caught up in their own agendas worrying about not having birth control, IVF or IUDS. We completely missed the most important person in this equation. No not you, but the unborn child. And what shocks me even more is that Pro-lifers and even Christians alike were not defending this initiative. Being Pro-life, this is the core foundation of our belief. That human life begins at conception.

Jeremiah 1:5
"I knew you before I formed you in your mother's womb. Before you were born I set you apart and appointed you as my prophet to the nations."
Psalm 139:13-14
13 For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. 14 I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful (abbr)
As Christians, believing in God’s word, this should not have been an issue. God created you so delicately and with so much care and intelligent design. Why would we be so careless about God’s gift? Is it too much to ask to be a voice for the voiceless? To stand for those who have not yet crawled and fight for those that can’t defend themselves? - Nathan Reed
